There are many things to do in the local area both far and wide. These are just a few ideas to make your stay even more special.
Hemyock
Located just one mile from The Hay Barn, this is a bustling little village with a pub, a church, a Post Office and a Spar shop amongst other things.
Get all your local amenities here or have a drink in the local pub.
The village also has two play parks, tennis courts and a football field for children to have a run and jump.
A perfect place if you don't want to venture too far.

The River Culm, Culmstock and Culmstock Beacon
Located around 3 miles from The Hay Barn, a picturesque village that's stunningly beautiful in the height of summer.
The Culm Valley Inn sits on the River Culm and offers both lunch and dinner either seated inside or outside.
If you venture down to the river, you will find lots of the local children playing, exploring the rock pools, playing under the bridge and even swimming. Don't forget your bathers!
If you drive up to Culmstock Beacon, you will find an old horse gallop which you can walk around. There are also wild ponies roaming around.
Sidmouth, Exmouth, Lyme Regis and Charmouth - the local coastal towns!
Sidmouth - located around 30 minutes away by car, this is the closest seaside/beach town. With boutique shops, charming cafe's, a pebble dash beach and beautiful views, this coastal town has everything you could ask for.
Exmouth - a vast, sandy beach, local fish and chips, great if you like watersports! Also, many children's activities!
Lyme Regis - famous for it's fossils! Like Sidmouth it is full of boutique shops and it has fantastically fresh fish and chips. The sandy beach is a big hit with families in the summer!
Charmouth - a much quieter village beach, located close to Lyme Regis. It has a vast area of sand, a couple of little cafe's and you may even get chased by a swan or two!
